To celebrate more than twenty-five years of collecting art, the AkzoNobel Art Foundation presented its jubilee exhibition, ‘ALL EYES – We Are The Collection’, at their Art Space in Amsterdam. Bringing together works from a variety of artists showing paintings, textile art, sculptures and digital media. Visitors were invited to look, but also to become part of the act of looking themselves. As the exhibition suggests, no one is merely an observer; while you feast your eyes on the works, others study you in return.
This idea of encounter, observation, and exchange became the foundation of the exhibition identity. The visual campaign explored the dynamics of seeing and being seen: what comes into focus, what recedes into blur, and how attention shifts between viewer and artwork. Close-up details of artworks dissolved into expansive, blurred fields of colour, creating a visual language that connected directly to AkzoNobel’s heritage, where colour forms the foundation of its brand and expertise. This visual landscape evolved into a flexible design system and motion language applied throughout the exhibition campaign, spanning environmental graphics, window manifestations, digital communications, advertising and the printed exhibition guide.
